New Year's Resolutions to Grow your Social Enterprise in 2019

2019 is here and we couldn’t be more excited for the year ahead. The Good Business Club (TGBC) launched in December 2018 and we are looking forward to hitting the ground running in January to move ‘business for good’ forward in and around Brighton.

Have you set goals for 2019 for your social enterprise? We believe that less-is-more and want to share some new year’s resolutions that we believe will help you get unstuck and increase your impact this year.

  • Reflect and learn from 2018

If there is just one thing you do at the start of this year it should be to take the time to reflect on the year past. Every single day when running a social enterprise is a whirlwind and it is so easy to continue racing ahead without taking a moment to review what you’ve achieved in 2018. Give yourself a pat on the back and shout out about your success and even more importantly learn from the moments that didn’t go to plan so that you can avoid them this year.

  • Ask for help from your network

Once you’ve reflected and feel more confident with your goals for 2019 you will no doubt have some items on your lists that you will need a hand with. Asking for help isn’t easy for many of us and not reaching out for support can be the biggest blocker to moving businesses forward. Be brave this year and reach out to your network to find the people who will change your business this year.

  • Surround yourself with like-minded people

This one is particularly important for those of you who are currently a one-person-band and find yourself working in isolation more times than not. Find your tribe and make the time this year to prioritise connecting with others running and supporting ‘business for good’ to increase the chances of being inspired, learning from others experiences and to hear about opportunities to grow your business.

This year is yours to make what you want from it, so be bold and stay connected. And if you need someone to reflect and strategise with; are stuck and looking for the right person to help; or are looking for your Tribe in and around Brighton join The Club and let’s help you make 2019 the best year yet for your social enterprise.
